The cost of the type of artificial crown fitted on the implant also affects the cost of the surgery. Generally, procera crowns are more costly than porcelain fused or metal crowns. The type of abutment used during the procedure also affects the cost of the surgery. Straight conventional abutments cost less than angulated, esthetic or zirconium abutments. Even the type of anesthetic procedure, that is, general or local also determines the cost of the surgery. Local anesthesia procedures are less expensive than general anesthesia. General anesthesia procedures are performed in hospitals where the patients have to be admitted and an expert anesthetist performs the anesthetic procedure.   

Any minor surgery performed after the placement of the implants as a corrective procedure may also cost more and brings added expenses. All the above mentioned factors determine the cost of the dental implant procedure. Though there might be other factors too, but these ones are the most common ones.
